School Programs
Chess Master Connections works creatively with schools and educators to use the game of chess as a method for helping students develop critical thinking, strategic planning, spacial logic and reasoning skills and much more, all in a fun, interactive and entertaining environment. Whether as part of before- or after-school enrichment, during the school day (perhaps in a study hall), as part of the math curriculum, or on behalf of a special learning population, Chess Master Connections makes learning fun.
MFS 2nd Grade Chess Class 2008 CMC’s offerings are inspired by youth world champion, Jorge Sammour-Hasbun, now 28 years old and the reigning 2007/2008 World Blitz Chess Champion. It is his vision and gift of teaching that guides our delivery of chess programming in the schools.-
In addition to providing chess instruction, Chess Master Connections can host an “awe” inspiring, world class, blindfold chess demonstration or a many board, simultaneous chess exhibition with Jorge and his champion, master’s level chess playing family. The Sammour-Hasbun family has been teaching chess for many years in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They represent solid family values and a wealth of world class accomplishments, and would love the opportunity to meet and share their talent and experiences with children, schools and parents.
